Winter School of Multilingualism, European Languages and Societies – submit your application by 25 January, 2023!

The University of Turku will organize an international Winter School of Multilingualism, European Languages and Societies, on 13–17 March, 2023. The Winter School will discuss topics related to multilingualism and European language communities. The working languages of the Winter School are English, French, and German. The organizers welcome applications from undergraduate and PhD students at the EC2U partner universities.

In 2023, the University of Turku will open the international, multilingual, master's program European Languages, Cultures and Societies in Contact (120 ECTS) based on the cooperation of European universities. Application period 4-18 January 2023. An information session about the program will be organised on zoom on 14.12. at 14:00-15:00 (Finnish time, which means 13:00-14:00 CET).

New Chinese Language Lecturer Hui Shi: “Language Opens Doors to a New Way of Thinking”

It has been possible to study Chinese language as a major subject at the University of Turku since 2021. The subject was recently strengthened with a new lecturer, Dr Hui Shi. The Chinese language department places special emphasis on the competence and skills needed in professional life and in various expert professions. The aim is that the students have a diverse understanding of the Chinese language and culture.

The Language Specialist Degree Programme

The Language Specialist Degree Programme KIAS is one of the three MA degree programmes in the School of Languages and Translation Studies at Turku. KIAS offers a broad and flexible programme that can be adapted to suit each individual student’s career plans.
