Biography
Maarit Mutta (PhD) is a senior university lecturer in French Studies at the University of Turku and an associate professor (docent) in Foreign Language Learning with a specialisation in second/foreign language (L2) writing at the Centre for Applied Language Studies, University of Jyväskylä. She is an expert in on-line foreign language writing processes and products of learners with multiple prior languages, especially the multilingual lexicon. Her research has focused mainly on the advanced L2 learners’ French. Maarit Mutta is expert of on-line processes of writing, especially of the component of writing fluency and of writing profiles. Recently she has also worked with informal language learning.
Mutta is also interested in comic studies, especially in relation to language teaching and learning. She made her MA thesis on retranslation of Tintin in Finnish and has published articles on French comics.Maarit Mutta on ResearchGate
