Market Creation for novel business – Heavy EV charging (MaCre) project engages focal actors in visioning the future of the HEV charging market. The project’s overall objective is to support the formation of a purposeful business ecosystem to grasp anticipated business opportunities as the electrification of HEVs market unfolds. The proposal is guided by the following research questions:
- What ecosystem shaping strategies and mechanisms have been employed in earlier socio-technical transitions relevant to the HEV charging market?
- How do focal ecosystem actors envision the desired future HEV charging market?
- How can focal companies in the ecosystem strategize to shape the HEV charging market?
The project has three work packages:
WP 1: Benchmarking ecosystem formation in earlier socio-technical transitions: identification of factors that drive or hinder transitions based on secondary data and expert interviews.
WP 2: Market visioning: visioning the emerging ecosystem in collaborative workshops and deriving visualized ecosystem maps.
WP 3: Strategies for market creation & shaping: understanding how the visualized ecosystem vision is utilized as an input into strategy work.
MaCre project helps developing Finnish companies’ dynamic market shaping capability by creating research-based insights to support ecosystem formation; transferable capabilities, for example expanding managers’ knowledge about market shaping and strategic allocation of organizational resources which is at the core of seizing opportunities.
The project is associated with Kempower’s HETE leading company roadmap.
