Biografia

I obtained my PhD in Physics from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, in 2018. Funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, I pursued my first postdoctoral research at Loughborough University, in the United Kingdom, until the summer of 2020. Subsequently, I have been a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University, Finland, working in three different departments: Chemistry and Materials, Applied Physics, and Bioproducts and Biosystems. Since June 2024, I have been an Assistant Professor of Computational Materials Engineering at the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering of the University of Turku.

Tutkimus

My broad research interest spans from the application of different numerical simulations (such as Brownian dynamics, dissipative particle dynamics and coarse-grained molecular dynamics) and statistical mechanics theories (classical density functional theories) to study the (non-)equilibrium morphological response of different systems, such as, e.g., colloidal suspensions, nano-particles, proteins, and a variety of polymeric morphologies in different environments. One of the main aims of my research is to provide accessible theoretical tools able to connect the molecular details of soft matter component systems to their mesoscopic response.
