Endorsing Open Science Through New Statistics
Aika
18.10.2023 klo 10.00 - 11.00
A new event will be organized by the Open Science Community of Turku! On October 18, 2023, at 10.00 o’clock (AM), Professor Geoff Cumming will provide a 1-hour online presentation, entitled “Open Science and The New Statistics: Towards a More Trustworthy Research Literature”.
New Statistics are an important Open Science topic. If we want to conduct research in a reliable and integer way, and if we really want to have societal impact, we need to shift our attention from traditional statistics, such as p-values, to new statistics. New statistics are – amongst others – effect sizes, confidence intervals, and meta-analyses. We will learn more on how we can integrate such new statistics in our work on October 18!
