Studying at the Department of Life Technologies
The department offers education in Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels. The academic degree programmes are provided in Biochemistry and in Engineering (Biotechnology).
The Bachelors education is given in Finnish while most of the Master’s level courses are taught in English. Many of the courses are available for exchange students, but may have prerequisites for admission.
Department offers three international Master’s Degree Programmes:
- Master’s Degree Programme in Food Development (M.Sc. (Tech))
- Master’s Degree Programme in Biomedical Sciences / Molecular Biotechnology and Diagnostics (M.Sc.)
- Master’s Degree Programme in Biosciences / Molecular Systems Biology (M.Sc.)
The teaching on Master’s level is based on the research carried out at the Department. The Master’s Degree Programmes provide strong theoretical knowledge and practical expertise on research methodologies through laboratory work and practical training.
