Large trial in United Kingdom indicates: KiVa antibullying programme effectively reduces bullying in primary schools

The largest trial of its kind in the United Kingdom has shown how a low-cost, structured, anti-bullying programme KiVa can improve social dynamics in primary schools and reduce victimisation. Judy Hutchings identifies as KiVa’s strength its way of targeting the whole school and stripping bullies of the social reward.

KiVa program becomes available to schools in Latvia

The State Chancellery of the Republic of Latvia will start implementing the KiVa program in schools starting from September 2023. The State Chancellery, the Children and Adolescent Resource Centre, Latvian SOS Children's Villages Association, the University of Latvia and Riga Stradins University have worked together in order to make the KiVa program operational in schools to reduce and prevent the spread of school bullying.

Expo 2020 Dubai, once postponed due to the COVID-19, will take place from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. Expo 2020 Dubai will be the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region. Expo 2020 is expected to attract 25 million visits, with 70 percent of visitors projected to come from outside the UAE – the largest proportion of international visitors in the 168-year history of World Expos. 

 

 

ERC Advanced Grant to Professor Christina Salmivalli for Research on Persistent Bullying Cases

Professor Salmivalli has received a research grant from the European Research Council ERC. The ERC Advanced Grant is the largest personal research grant available in Europe.

The five-year ERC Advanced Grants are given to established, leading principal investigators who have a track-record of significant research achievements. The ERC Advanced Grants are one of the most competed funding in Europe.
