Saarikoski has been teaching about online cultures, media history, game cultures, history of technology and scientific writing.
Research
Petri Saarikoski (born 30.3.1972, Rovaniemi) received his PhD in general history. His doctoral thesis (2004) considered the history of home computing in Finland from 1970s to 1990s. He works now as a university lecturer of Digital Culture at University of Turku, Finland. With a focus on history of media and technology, he has studied computers and popular media, Internet and BBS, social media, game cultures, and theoretical and methodological aspects of the study of digital culture.
