Digital Signature UTUsign of the University of Turku
The digital signature system used at the University of Turku (UTUsign) is a Sarake Sign service produced by the Sarake Oy. UTUsign is an advanced digital signature system in accordance with the eIDAS regulation.
The system requires authentication from the signatory or the sender of the signature request either with the UTU username or from external signatories with invitation authentication to e-mail and PIN code sent as an SMS.
The signed document is locked with the University’s digital signature certificate and the signatories’ personal data (email and telephone number) is saved in the document's metadata. This information can be viewed e.g. in the Adobe Acrobat Reader by selecting File → Properties → Custom tab.
