How to Apply for Doctoral Training at the Faculty of Medicine

There are 6 Faculty of Medicine related University of Turku (UTUGS) doctoral programmes, through which a right to study for a doctoral degree is applied for. In addition, there is a doctoral pilot programme in connection with the national doctoral training pilot. Each of the doctoral programmes publish a call for applications including instructions for applying before the application period starts. You can find all necessary information about applying from the doctoral programme in question.

The call for applications of the autumn semester 2024 for the right to study for a doctoral degree and/or a doctoral researcher position under an employment contract at the Faculty of Medicine from 1 January 2025 onwards has closed and the related selection processes are ongoing.

The next, additional call for applications for the right to study for a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Medicine from 1.1.2025 onwards will open for some doctoral programmes on 28 October – 8 November 2024 (the application forms close at 4 pm local time in Finland). 

Calls for applications and instructions are published on the websites of the participating doctoral programmes listed below. One can also apply for the Doctoral Pilot Programme in Immunology through this call. The doctoral pilot programme is for those whose research project and supervisor are part of the ImmuDocs pilot.
