Teaching prepares you to act as an expert communicator in your field
The teaching of academic writing in the Finnish language is the teaching of the use of language in special fields, known as LSP (Language for Special Purposes) teaching, as the course contents are designed to meet the needs of each discipline.
The teaching of academic writing supports the student's written communication skills: on the courses students practice their own writing, study the conventions of writing and text genres in their own field and learn to use academic terminology and adapt their text according to readership and context. The goal of academic writing instruction is to support the student’s pre-existing writing skills and help students improve those areas of the language where they need practice or repetition.
