Games to Solve Scientific Problems at Game Jam
Quantum physicists will try out new methods in solving the mysteries of science. A group of enthusiastic professionals from different disciplines will gather to Tuorla Observatory of the University of Turku, and their mutual aim is to create games which will produce new knowledge. The results will be presented at the Science Café on 14 December, where SF-author Hannu Rajaniemi will also give a presentation.
Professor Eva-Mari Aro and Her Research Group Become Partners in an Australian Centre of Excellence
Eva-Mari Aro, the professor of Molecular Plant Biology at the University of Turku, and her research group were selected as the only Finnish group to become partners in an Australian centre of excellence research programme.

The Amazonian Biodiversity under Close Study
A Finnish-Brazilian collaboration that researches the variation of biodiversity in the Amazon has received the biggest funding, over 670 000 euro, from the Academy of Finland and the São Paulo Research Foundation.
