Library acquires e-books, including course books, in multiple ways and acquisition models. Some books are acquired permanently for the library's collections. However, some are later removed due to the acquisition method and the agreement terms between publishers and aggregators. Requests made by customers are taken into account, but availability and the price set their own limits also to the ways e-books can be used. 

In Turku University Library, you can read expatriate Finnish newspapers that describe the everyday life of Finnish immigrants in the 1800s and 1900s. There are more than 100 newspapers available from around the world. 

The Turku University Library has acquired Keenious, an AI-based search tool that offers a completely new approach to information retrieval. Keenious allows you to search for sources based on text, not keywords. The tool is suitable for use across all disciplines and works both in a web browser and as an add-on to Word’s word processor.
