Professor Birgitta Henriques Normark and Professor Staffan Normark from the Karolinska Institutet will receive the Prix Aboensis recognition prize, granted for the very first time by the Turku University Foundation. The new prize is awarded as a recognition for efficiently combining basic research and clinical science.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization has awarded the ViLLE learning platform developed by the Centre for Learning Analytics at the University of Turku with the 2020 UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize. The Prize is given annually to two nominees whose projects promote learning and teaching with information and communication technology.
Research Director Laura Elo from Turku Centre for Biotechnology receives the international Rising Talent Award of the For Women in Science programme granted by the L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO. The recognition is awarded to 15 most promising women researchers from all over the world. The recognition is awarded on Thursday, 14 March in Paris.
