The University of Turku warmly welcomes its alumni to the alumni event in Brussels on 9 December 2024. The event focuses on the importance of research and education in building a competitive and sustainable Europe.
The University of Turku welcomed new international students with a three-day orientation that included information sessions from different University services and units. The Alumni Relations team also participated in the orientation, providing information on alumni events, mentoring programmes and other resources to help students connect with the University community.
In an innovative exploration of personal futures, students from the University of Turku recently participated in the Future Me alumni workshop, oraganised at the Entrepreneurial Hub Konttori. Hosted by the University of Turku alumni and futurist Anna Ryzhova, the event offered attendees a unique opportunity to apply principles of futures studies and imagine their future career paths.
Students and alumni discussed working life and the transition to it at a morning coffee organised by the University of Turku Alumni Relations on Fri May 19. The alumni encouraged students to trust themselves and move boldly towards their own goals in working life.
The multidisciplinary mentoring programme of the University of Turku supports the students' transition to working life as well as their professional development. The mentors are University of Turku alumni and other volunteers who want to share their work life experience and views and professional networks with recent graduates.
We want to develop the alumni activities of the University of Turku. Answer the survey to let us know what you want from alumni activities and participate in its development. Answering takes about 5-10 minutes. The survey will be open until April 7th, 2023.
The Alum of the Year award is given annually to a graduate of the University of Turku who has contributed to the advancement of Finnish society and the University of Turku or has demonstrated other exemplary activities for the benefit of the community. The university community and stakeholders can nominate the Alumni of the Year by the 30th of November 2022.
The University community’s wishes have been heard, and the University of Turku has now been designed its own knitted sweater pattern. The most central symbol of the University’s logo and emblem, the torch, served as knitting pattern designer Jenna Kostet’s inspiration when designing the pattern.
Developing international alumni relations is one of the objectives of the University of Turku's International Programme. Cultivating mutually beneficial relations with alumni near and far is important in a world that is diverse and increasingly interconneted.
