Digital Futures Seminar 10 October: How digitalisation is changing science and society?

Digitalisation is transforming our society by creating new possibilities and disrupting existing social structures. Digital Futures, one of the profiling areas of the University of Turku, is organising a multidisciplinary seminar to discuss the impact of digitalisation on research, scientific methods, and societal change on 10 October 2019. The theme of the seminar is “How digitalisation is changing science and society?" and it is open for all interested, welcome! 

Tanzania's Preparation for Climate Risks Supported by Collaboration between University of Turku and Four Local Universities

The World Bank is funding the University of Turku and four Tanzanian universities in developing geospatial expertise to control risks posed by floods and climate change. Cities in Tanzania are especially vulnerable to the extreme phenomena caused by climate change due to population growth and weak urban planning.

Guest Lecture – Péter Mezei: Digital Exhaustion and Beyond

Dr. Péter Mezei, Associate Professor, University of Szeged and Adjunct Professor of University of Turku, held a guest lecture 15 November 2017 at the Faculty of Law commemorating his 20th teaching visit to the University of Turku. Nearly 30 colleagues and students gathered to listen the lecture.

 

Technology Education at University of Turku Proven to Develop Innovation Skills

A study conducted on the graduate engineering double degree programme of the University of Turku and Fudan University shows that the activating teaching methods used in the programme develop students' innovation skills. An article based on the study called University Education as a Pathway to Innovation has been published in the international Journal of European Higher Education Area.
