Turku Institute for Advanced Studies Launches New Scheme with Eight Fellowhips – Call for Applications Opens on 15 November
The Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) at the University of Turku launches the ground-breaking Turku Intersectoral Excellence Scheme with eight new fellowships. The fellows will be appointed for three years from 1 September 2023 and will undertake a secondment of two to six months in an organisation outside higher education. The call for applications is open 15 November 2022–9 January 2023, and TIAS organises an online launch event on 15 November where applicants can find out more about the fellowships.
Kone Foundation Grants Additional Funding for Researchers Fleeing the War in Ukraine
The Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) research collegium of the University of Turku has received additional funding from Kone Foundation for hiring researchers fleeing the war in Ukraine.
Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) appoints five new postdoctoral fellows
Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) has appointed five new postdoctoral fellows to three-year positions, which commence on 1 january 2021. Following a process of international peer review, the successful candidates were chosen from a field of 286 applications for the five positions available (a success rate of 1.7%). They will join an institute which is committed to interdisciplinary working and the development of top-level researchers.

All interested parties are warmly welcomed to a lecture series organised by Turku Collegium for Science and Medicine (TCSM) and Turku Institute of Advanced Studies (TIAS)! In the series, collegium researchers give lectures on on-going research at the University of Turku. The lectures are given at Turku City Library from March 3 to May 11.
New Researchers at Turku Institute for Advanced Studies Tackle Pioneering Projects
Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) strengthens its position as a leading multidisciplinary research unit in humanities and social sciences after recruiting new researchers, ten of whom started their work at the beginning of 2019. During their three-year projects, the Institute’s researchers will conduct a diverse range of interdisciplinary, innovative and socially impactful research.
22 New Researchers to Turku Institute for Advanced Studies of the University of Turku
Having recruited 22 new researchers, the Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS) strengthens its position as an international unit of high-quality and innovative research in the humanities and social sciences. The three-year research positions of the multidisciplinary research collegium are extremely popular, something which is apparent considering the number of the applications: almost 700 applications from 78 different countries. TIAS is a joint enterprise between the Faculties of Social Sciences, Humanities, Education and Law and Turku School of Economics.
