QS Ranking: University of Turku among the Best 500 Universities in Seven Disciplines
The international QS World University Rankings by Subject ranks altogether 500 universities in 48 different disciplines. In the 2018 ranking, the most successful disciplines from the University of Turku were Nursing Science (44th) and Education (151–200).
Live music census carried out in UK strikes note of caution over future of venues
Director of Turku Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS), Professor Martin Cloonan was part of a research group that carried out the world’s first live music census in the United Kingdom in March 2017. The results suggest that small live music venues are facing a number of threats that could affect their long-term future.

Turku School of Economics at the University of Turku has established a Laboratory of Business Disruption Research in order to research and develop management and realisation models for business disruptions. The partners of the Laboratory are Aller Media Finland, Bayer Nordic SE, IBM Finland, OP Financial Group, PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers Oy), Rolls-Royce Oy Ab and Valmet Automotive Inc.
