Amazon Research Team Wants to Open Its Collections
The University of Turku's Amazon Research Team's (UTU-ART) botanical acquisitions focus especially on ferns and medinilla plants. After spending weeks in the jungle, the researchers’ plant specimen findings end up in the University's Herbarium and databases. The Amazonia is home to innumerable unknown species and therefore it is important to develop the databases.

New Methods for Language Learning Developed at the University of Turku
Researchers from the Faculty of Humanities are developing methods for facilitating language learning and cultural education through art. In addition, the Centre for Language and Communication Studies is developing a mobile app for supporting international students in Finnish language learning.

MLA International Bibliography with Full Text database combines a wide-ranging collection of full-text journals covering various fields, for example linguistics, literature, writing studies, theater and other dramatic arts.

The Department of Folkloristics co-operates with other departments of Folkloristics in Finland and other cultural institutions. These include Folkloristics at the Åbo Akademi University, University of Helsinki, University of Eastern Finland and the University of Jyväskylä.
Quantum Library Moves to Teutori in Early 2023
Turku University Library will give up Quantum Library facilities in early 2023. Printed materials in mathematics, natural sciences and engineering will be transferred to Teutori Library.
