The activities in TUCEMEMS are led by an executive board appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities. The members of the executive board are teachers and researchers working within the University of Turku. They represent a variety of the research fields covered by TUCEMEMS.
Physicist Stefan Hell, who had his innovation at the University of Turku in the 1990s, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in autumn 2014. The 10th anniversary of the prize commemorated not only Hell's groundbreaking discovery, but also imaging expertise and research in Turku
The Faculty of Medicine celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2023. Since 1943, the Faculty has been an active health and well-being promoter and a regional influencer. Throughout the year, the Faculty will organise versatile events, to which we warmly welcome everyone.
Each year we organise project courses, where our students can work together with different museums and cultural heritage operators.
Rector of the University of Turku has appointed 16 doctoral programmes for the term 1.8.2021 - 31.7.2025 and one doctoral pilot programme for the duration of the national doctoral education pilot.

The focal points of gender studies are discourses of gender’s historical, cultural, and social relations. Gender is examined in relation to other identity defining differences, for example, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, race, age, disability, and body size.
