The University Consortium of Pori (UCPori) is a unique partnership that brings together four Finnish universities – University of Turku, Aalto University, Tampere University of Technology and University of Tampere.

The research interests of the staff at the Department of Russian Studies include modern Russian linguistics, contemporary literature, children’s literature, fantasy and horror literature, comics, political cartoons, propaganda art, human-animal studies, and the methods of language teaching.
The LGBT Magazine Archive and LGBT Thought and Culture databases open up perspectives on LGBT history, art, literature and culture. The materials also address the lifestyle, politics, social attitudes, legal issues and activism of sexual minorities.
Comparative Literature collaborates extensively with Finnish Literature, Cultural History and other disciplines of the School of History, Culture and Arts Studies and several language departments of the School of Languages and Translation Studies as well as the other faculties in the University of Turku, other Finnish universities and our international partners.
In the QS Ranking by subject, the University of Turku was the most successful, as a whole, in the fields of bioscience and medicine.
Estonian language and culture is a suitable minor subject for students from the Department of Finnish Language and Finno-Ugric Languages, or for the students of foreign languages, history, arts and cultural history. Estonian studies may also be useful for students from the faculties of mathematics and natural sciences, law, and social sciences who specialise in the Baltic Sea region in their Master’s-level studies.
In the 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject, the University of Turku was among the best 500 in the world in four broad subject areas and in 13 disciplines.
