Intoa! Lean Business Programme Enters Hacking Higher Education Competition

The University’s Intoa! Lean Business Programme is taking part in the Hacking Higher Education competition which rewards innovations that have improved the operations of higher education institutions. The competition is arranged as a part of the international Dare to Learn event, organised in Helsinki September 19–20.

Increasing Number of Adolescents Receive Depression Diagnosis

The proportion of young people in Finland diagnosed with depression in specialised services is increasing, showed a study based on an extensive set of national data. An increasing number of adolescents seek and get help, but the increase in service use burdens specialised services. The study was conducted by the Research Centre for Child Psychiatry at the University of Turku.

Vice President of Namibia Visits University of Turku

Together with Turku Science Park, the University of Turku organised a networking event at the Visitor and Innovation Centre Joki. The Vice President of Namibia participated in the event that showcased the activities of the higher education institutions, businesses and organisations in Turku. The participants also discussed future collaboration between Finland and Namibia.

University of Turku Has Joined International OpenAPC-service

University of Turku is now a member of international OpenAPC service which collects information of open access costs paid by the universities. Data is based on University of Turku book-keeping records which has been enriched at the library by publication data. At the moment OpenAPCs-service covers information of open access publication cost paid by the University of Turku from the years 2017-2018 and beginning of 2019 (January-April 2019).
