The Seminar Garden of the University of Turku's Rauma campus actively serves students of the teacher training institute, students of Rauma Teacher Training School and other Rauma primary schools, and groups of children in kindergartens.
The Seminar Garden at Rauma campus of the University of Turku actively serves students of the teacher training institute, students of Rauma Teacher Training School and other Rauma primary schools, and groups of children in kindergartens.
Schoolchildren make extensive use of the garden and plots, e.g. in biology and home economics education. The students of the teacher training institute practice e.g. plant breeding experiment arrangements, monitoring and reporting.
The garden area includes:
- About 150 species in the collection greenhouse
- A total of about 200 species of summer flowers and perennials
- Vegetables, spices and herbs circa 100 species
- Shrubs about 60 species
- Trees about 50 specie
You can also come for a hike in Myllymäki; explore the plants, observe the birds or even have a picnic.
