WORK conferences - Multidisciplinary working life research in an international network
TCLS organises biannually an international, multidisiplinary WORK conference on work and working life research. The conferences offer a wide forum for sharing recent working life related research and for networking internationally. WORK conference has been organised since 2013.
The next WORK2025 conference will be organised in August 2025.
The programme and the contents of the conferences has been planned to be as most recent as possible. In 2013 the theme of the conference was Continuities and Disruptions in Modern Life, in 2017 Work and Labour in the Digital Future, and in 2019 Real Work in the Virtual Work. The first two conferences has been organised at the University of Turku, and in 2019 at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. WORK2021 conference was organised as a virtual series of three conferences in August, October and December in 2021. The theme of the conference was Work beyond Crises. In 2023, the conference was organised as a hybrid event at the University of Turku and on a virtual conference platform. WORK2023 theme was Digital Capitalism: Peril and Possibilities.
The scientific contents and theme of the conference is developed and planned by an international scientific committee. The members of the scientific committee are:
