SusCon (Sustainable Shipbuilding Concepts)
Description: The SusCon (Sustainable Shipbuilding Concepts) project focuses on researching the processes of shipbuilding design and value creation in order to identify new opportunities and methods for bringing more responsible solutions to cruise ships. Responsibility can be influenced, for example, by new design concepts, material choices, manufacturing techniques, or social considerations. Turku School of Economics' research focuses on collaboration mechanisms, information exchange, and the development of network-level forecasting and adaptability capabilities for shipyards, shipping companies, and the shipbuilding supply chain. Additionally, the project conducts technical research on the use of virtual and augmented reality tools in design work, as well as verifying the impact of sustainability-related choices.
