The Turku Finnish University Society's governing board appointed a library committee in November 1917 to take care of necessary operations for the library, such as acquisitions and book donations sent from all around Finland. In 1920, library expert and author Volter Kilpi was invited to run the new university library, only a year after starting work as a librarian in the public library of Turku. The new library was opened in 1921.
The library's anniversary is filled with diverse programmes and events – follow our updates and news on the library website and in social media @LibUniTurku.
