A new feature has been added to the University’s UTUCRIS research information system to simplify and speed up the process of recording publications. Researchers can now import publications into the system easily using only the DOI (Digital Object Identifier).
The Ministry of Education and Culture annually collects publication data from all national universities, research institutes and university hospitals. The data collected are used in the calculation of basic funding for universities and universities of applied sciences and other research and development statistics, monitoring and guidance.
The Library imports publications by the University of Turku researchers to the Current Research Information System UTUCRIS around the year from several international and national databases. About 50 % of all publications in the University are harvested in the database imports. At the moment, the system contains 3,100 publications, which is approximately 54 % of the annual accumulation. At the moment, the system contains 3,800 publications, which is approximately 66 % of the annual accumulation.
