The University of Turku is establishing two new English-language bachelor's degree programmes: Information and Communication Technology within the Faculty of Technology, and Sustainable and Social Entrepreneurship within Turku School of Economics. The first intake for both programmes will be in 2025, with application period in January 2025.

The objective of the strategic funding programme is to develop the University’s multidisciplinary approach to education and to support the objective of increasing the number of international students.

In the first joint application round of 2023, the international Master’s degree programmes of the University of Turku attracted a total of 5,958 applications. The number of applications grew by a record-breaking 76 percent compared to the number of applications in 2022. The greatest growth was seen in the Master’s degree programmes in Gender Studies and in Mechanical Engineering.

The University of Turku has a total of 16 international degree programmes open for applications during the joint application round on 5–19 January 2022. Three of the 14 Master’s degree programmes are available for the first time, offered by the new Faculty of Technology.

In its meeting on 11 June 2021, the University Board decided on the establishment of new degree programmes taught in English.

The application round to the international degree programmes of the University of Turku ended on 22 January. The University received a record number of applications: 2,008 in total from over a hundred countries, whereas last year the number was 1,376. The number of applicants increased by 52 percent.
