Education Database is one of the ProQuest Central databases. The data base includes some 900 journals, and plenty of other resources. Subject coverage comprises Adult education, Elementary education, Higher education, Home schooling, Secondary education, Special needs education and Teacher education. As resource types, there are Scholarly journals, magazines and trade journals, among others. Most of the material is available as full text.
Statista offers over 1.5 million statistics and facts on more than 60,000 topics drawn from over 18,000 different sources, including market researchers, trade organizations, scientific journals, and government databases. Apart from Statistics, Statista also provides data on market forecasts, white paper studies, dossiers, industry reports and digital market outlooks.
Several necessary and interesting e-resources were once again added to the library collections during the year 2018.
The FinELib consortium is continuing their discussions with the publishers but it is doubtful whether an agreement will be arrived at. If there will be no agreement, access to over 3 000 Taylor & Francis and Wiley journals will be cut off in the beginning of February.
The FinELib consortium’s negotiations with two major publishers, Wiley and Taylor & Francis, ended at the end of 2018 without reaching a new agreement. At the University of Turku, the publishers’ online journals can be used until the end of January, and FinELib and the Turku University Library aim to ensure the researchers, teachers, and students’ access to the articles also in the future.
