Volunteer mentors and students gathered together on 12 June at the University's Turku School of Economics to celebrate the successful end of the mentoring programme for the past academic year. This was the 22nd year of the University's long-running mentoring programme. In the last two years, the programme has been organised in both Finnish and English.
The multidisciplinary mentoring programme of the University of Turku supports the students' transition to working life as well as their professional development. The mentors are University of Turku alumni and other volunteers who want to share their work life experience and views and professional networks with recent graduates.
The Ministry of Education and Culture funded HEI LIFE project organised a workshop in Turku focusing on practical ways to support the employment of international talents.
The mentoring programmes of the University of Turku support students’ transition into professional life and researchers’ and other staff members’ professional development. The University has mentoring programmes for Master's degree students who are about to graduate, young researchers, international staff and grant researchers who are aiming for a career outside academia, and other staff. Call for new mentors for the programmes is once again open during the autumn!
The multidisciplinary mentoring programme supports both students’ transition into professional life and researchers’ and other personnel’s career development. The mentors are University’s alumni, and other volunteers who want to share their professional life experience and views, and also their professional network.
The multidisciplinary mentoring programme of the University of Turku kicked off at the start of the year. The University-wide mentoring programme facilitates mentoring programmes directed at master’s degree students, doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers, as well as University staff. Altogether 83 mentors and 105 mentees take part in the programmes offered. Concluding seminars of the mentoring programmes will be held in October–November.
The mentoring programme supports doctoral researchers and postdoctoral researchers in their career development and in recognizing one's professional skills and expertise. Mentoring programme is a joint programme between University of Turku and Åbo Akademi University. The mentoring programme begins with an orientation seminar in February and the programme ends in October. The seminar will be held in English.
The MediOpe unit's tasks include supporting both teaching and learning at the Faculty of Medicine. The unit organises training for faculty teaching staff, supports the implementation and development of teaching, coordinates and develops mentoring programmes for undergraduate students and the faculty's student feedback system. The unit also supports curriculum development.
