Gender Studies co-operates broadly with all departments at the School of History, Culture and Arts Studies and with many departments at the University’s other Faculties (especially Social Sciences, Education, and Law).

The Department’s research profile and focus are on humanities, particularly on cultural and arts studies.

Gender studies can be studied as an open minor, hence there is no entrance exam. Students of all Faculties are welcome to study Gender Studies!

The focal points of gender studies are discourses of gender’s historical, cultural, and social relations. Gender is examined in relation to other identity defining differences, for example, sexuality, nationality, ethnicity, race, age, disability, and body size.
