Academy funding for research into Academic Entrepreneurship
The Academy of Finland has granted over 750 000 euros to the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Turku to pursue the Academic Entrepreneurship as a social process (ACE) research project. The four-year project studies academic entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education and training in the transformation of universities, that are marked by financial pressure and the growing importance of societal impact.

Annual Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Finnish 2015 Report has been published. The national GEM study introduces the state-of-the-art figures of the emerging, newand established entrepreneurship in Finland. In addition, conditions that enhance or hinder new business creation, i.e entrepreneurial framework conditions, are assessed and compared in national and global level in the report.

New study shows that entrepreneurs who are passionate about inventing and developing their ventures are more likely to engage in bricolage and, combined, the affective state of passion and the “make do with scarce resources” behaviors of bricolage help entrepreneurs keep their businesses going.
