University Takes Technology and AI Research to SHIFT Business Festival

The University of Turku participates in the SHIFT Business Festival on 29–30 August with two themes: using technology in the sustainable development of the maritime and food industries and the interaction between humans and machines. The theme of SHIFT 2019 is Shapeshifting intelligence, which looks beyond the hype for a more holistic view of intelligent business.

University of Turku Establishes Joint Double Degree Programme in Future Health & Technology in collaboration with Fudan University, China

The new Master’s Degree Programme in Future Health & Technology will start in Autumn 2019 at the University of Turku. The programme, leading to a double degree, is organised in close collaboration with Fudan University in Shanghai, China. Thereby, the University of Turku expands the ongoing cooperation in the area of Information and Communication technology also to Health Sciences and Technology.

Research in the Department of Computing is both theorethical and applied — we study new algorithms and methods to understand data, user experience, artificial intelligence, and collaborate widely accross many fields to apply our findings. Our research is motivated by the desire to improve our digitalised society, help to solve today's major societal and environmental challenges, and explore new possiblities of computing.

Department of Computing

The Department of Computing educates professionals for the modern digitalised society. Our teaching covers the entire spectrum of computing from electronics to large-scale software systems. Central themes of teaching and research include Digitalisation, Machine Learning, Autonomous and Intelligent Systems, Cybersecurity and Health Technology.  We offer Master's and Doctoral degrees both in Information Technology and Computer Science.
