SusFab – Sustainable Fabrication Infrastructure
SusFab integrates expertise from the fields of advanced manufacturing, materials science, and engineering to establish a state-of-the-art platform for sustainable fabrication innovations with industry partners. SusFab also supports the Sustainable Materials & Manufacturing profiling area at the University of Turku.
Leveraging the strong research foundation in advanced manufacturing at the University of Turku, and the recent advancements in fabrication technologies, SusFab aims to build a comprehensive infrastructure to support both the scientific community and the industrial sector. The purpose of SusFab is to increase collaboration between local industries and academic researchers, enhancing research excellence in the areas of materials engineering and sustainable fabrication processes for next generation devices. We develop innovative models for industrial collaboration, targeting a wide range of companies, from startups to large enterprises, to raise awareness of new opportunities in sustainable fabrication. SusFab also serves as a hub to identify and launch significant strategic research projects that enhance the competitiveness of companies and contribute to major societal impacts.
SusFab offers a collection of advanced fabrication processes, including additive manufacturing, 3D printing, bioprinting, 2D printing, device fabrication, and comprehensive testing and characterization services. By providing access to cutting-edge fabrication technologies and expertise, SusFab aims to drive forward sustainable manufacturing practices, promote innovation, and create a robust ecosystem for the development of next-generation materials and devices.
