Doctoral Programme in Biology, Geography and Geology (3-4 yrs)

Doctoral Programme in Biology, Geography and Geology (BGG) offers high-quality and interdisciplinary doctoral training in natural science research. Traditionally strong areas in BGG are ecology, evolutionary biology, biodiversity, environmental science, physiology, genetics, physical geography, human geography and geology.

Application calls for a right to study are open annually in March and in September. Extra call for a right to study a doctoral degree are possible. In September call it is also possible to apply a fixed-term funded doctoral researcher position.

Next calls for a right to study will be open:

  • 28 October, 2024 – 8 November, 2024 (right to study from 1 January 2025). The application form closes at 4 pm (local time in Finland). 
  • 3 March - 14 March, 2025 (right to study from 1 August 2025). The application form closes at 4 pm (local time in Finland).
