The Department of European and World History collaborates with an extensive network of partners – both within and outside the academic world. Our closest partners include the other departments in the School of History, Culture and Arts Studies and in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Turku, and other faculties and Finnish universities. We are also working in close collaboration with multidisciplinary networks and organisations with whom we promote the study of international history and its significance to the society.

Hungarian language is exotically different from the Indo-European languages, and it offers a unique route into both linguistics and continental European culture. Hungarian Language and Culture provides a great opportunity to explore an interesting language and become acquainted with the rich and diverse culture of East-Central Europe.

At the University of Turku, study programmes are constantly being developed to serve the needs of future professionals. In our rapidly evolving world, delivering the best possible education sometimes requires modifying specialisation tracks, changing programme names, or even discontinuing certain programmes or tracks altogether.

TIAS organises a range of research seminars, conferences, and lectures which are generally open to everyone and of a multidisciplinary nature.

At the Faculty of Humanities, teaching and research are closely connected. A humanist education provides a wide range of skills.

There are various multidisciplinary and international research centres operating within the Faculty of Humanities. These research centres promote high-quality research in their own fields. They also organise various seminars and conferences.
