Depictions of depression are often misleading
A recent Finnish study shows that people are commonly given misleading information about depression. According to the researchers, the inaccurate information makes it harder for people to understand the causes of their distress.
Gambian Minister of Education Explored the Education Selection of the University of Turku
The new Gambian Minister of Education Badara A. Joof and Professor and Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of the Gambia Pierre Gomez visited the University of Turku and the Helsinki office of Finland University on 18–20 June. The visit was a part of the Gambian delegation’s broader tour to the Nordic countries and their education.
Uni Turku Team at the 20th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, 22–28 March 2013
Once again a team from the University of Turku participated in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Organized for the 20th time, the Vis Moot gathered 296 teams from around the world for extremely competitive rounds of written and oral advocacy with final victory claimed by the City University of Hong Kong. The Uni Turku Vis Team, with students Juho Hellgren, Mirka Kuisma, Petr Timura, Lisa Werle, Mikita Areshko and Veera Salokannel, returned home with an honorary mention for their excellent respondent's memorandum.
THE World University Rankings by Subject 2021: University of Turku among the Best in Nine Disciplines
The annual Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings list the world’s best universities in eleven disciplines. Altogether 1512 universities were ranked in the 2021 World University Rankings. The University of Turku was ranked in nine different disciplines.
Researcher of the Faculty of Law appointed as visiting professors in the UK and Italy
Faculty of Arts Social Sciences (FASS), The Open University in the UK has appointed professor Anne Alvesalo-Kuusi as a visiting professor for the period of 1.11.2020 – 31.10.2022. The LUISS University in Italy has invited postdoctoral researcher Dhanay Cadillo Chandler as a visiting professor during the spring 2021.

The University of Turku reached the place 208 in the QS World University Rankings. The University received particularly strong evaluations in reputation and the teacher-student ratio.
