I obtained my MSc degree in Physiology and genetics at the Department of Biology in University of Turku, Finland, in 2012. After this I started my PhD studies in the research group of Academician Eva-Mari Aro at the Department of Biochemistry in University of Turku, Finland, and I graduated with honours in 2018. During my PhD studies I focused on researching the regulation of major bioenergetics pathways in cyanobacteria. From 2018 to 2021 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Luning Liu’s group in University of Liverpool, UK, where I studied biogenesis and dynamics of thylakoid membrane in cyanobacteria. Currently I’m working as a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Yagut Allahverdiyeva’s group in University of Turku, Finland where I study the bioenergetics of photomixotrophy and its utilisation in bioproduction.
