Biography
I graduated from the University of Turku in 1995, French as my major subject and English as my secondary subject. I worked as a missionary in Cameroon for seven years between 1997 and 2006. I have worked as a language teacher in a lower secondary school in Mäntsälä, FInland. My present employer is the Teacher Training School in Rauma, Finland. I am on study leave since August 2019 to work on my PhD thesis.
Teaching
I am a language teacher (English, French) and have taught in both primary and secondary schools for more than ten years. I work in a University Teacher Training School (Rauman normaalikoulu) where I also supervise future teachers.
Research
My PhD research is about the language-in-education policy and multilingual education in Namibian basic education. My focus in on teachers' beliefs about language policy and its implementation and the classroom practices they use in the multilingual context they work in.
