Teaching
At the moment, teaching is not included in my tasks. Previously, I have been teaching TEVY-course for 1st year students at Turku School of Economics (it is a basic course concentrating on general competences like team work, giving presentation, writing reports, but also cooperating with companies), and earlier also courses in strategic management. I have also superviced bachelor's thesis and coodinated a course packege for business competences at Turku School of Economis.
Before that, I participated in the development of entrepreneurship education at the Pori unit of Turku School of Economics, e.g. in designing courses (using virtual world in teaching opprotunity recognition) and participating in the entrepreneurship group within the higher education institutions in Satakunta.
I have also tought management accounting (also strategic management accounting) in the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences and designed and organized education for new entrepreneurs as further education at Turku University of Applied Sciences.
Research
In my doctoral research, my aim was to add to our understanding of entrepreneurial opportunities by invertigating women entrepreneurs' conversations in order to find out how women entrepreneurs construct opportunity creation, how they make sense of, and what they see as important in the process of opportunity creation, as well as what kind of novel aspects this can reveal about entrepreneurial opportunities and their creation. My aim is also to make more visible the context in which women entrepreneurs identidy and enact opportunities since this has not received as much attention as it deserves.
My research interests include women entrepreneurs more widely, as I have also studied women entrepreneurs' social capital and networks.
