I have worked in several universities before coming to the University of Turku, in the beginning of year 2020. I started my academic career in the University of Helsinki. I have finished my doctoral degree (Special Education) there. I also have held title of docent at University of Helsinki since 2012. I worked as a University Lecturer at the University of Jyväskylä for nine years. Then I was appointed to a full professorship in Special Education at the University of Eastern Finland. I was in that position for 5,5 years (2014-2019). I served at the Board of the Fulbright Finland Association 2015-2023 (Vice-chair of the Board on two-year term 2017-2018, Chair of the Board on two-year term 2019-2020). I was appointed to the Executive Board of the Coimbra Group Network on summer 2023. Administrative work has been closely intertwined with my academic career throughout the years.
