Research
My PhD project looks at domain-specific epistemic practices and conceptual understanding in the context of expertise in academic history. I am interested in questions such as these:
- How do historians’ and history majors’ conceptualizations of “what is history” change along the developmental trajectory towards expertise in history?
- What are the epistemic practices through which academic history is produced?
- What are the criteria through which experts evaluate historical works?
- How and why are certain fragments of the past chosen as worthy of historical research?
