Biography
I received my PhD degree in psychology in 1999 from the University of Turku (Finland), where I now serve as a senior lecturer of psychology in the Department of Psychology and Speech-Language Pathology.

Research
My main research focus is on consciousness research. I study how conscious and unconscious visual processes proceed during time. The main research methods involve visual masking, EEG, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). My research has been published in journals such as Journal of Neuroscience, Cerebral Cortex, Psychological Science, Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience. I have published about 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
