Biography

I work as a senior researcher at the Department of Teacher Education, where my responsibilities include designing the data architecture for the National Teacher Education Database (FinTED) and tasks related to data privacy practices, data management and documentation. In addition, I serve as the coordinator for the follow-up study of (KASVU), which examines teacher education selection, with its research data forming a core part of the FinTED database

Teaching

As a senior researcher, my current role is research-oriented, with work assignments linked to ongoing projects. Therefore, I am not teaching at the moment, except for supervising dissertations. I am currently serving as the third supervisor for one doctoral thesis.

I have enhanced my teaching skills by completing university pedagogy studies worth 25 credits. In the past, I have taught the following courses:

- Basic Statistical Skills in Educational Sciences (2017)

- Scientific Activity and Academic Literacy in Education (2017)

- Proseminar in Education (small-group teaching, 28 hours, 2015–2018)

- Multi-professional Work in Networks in Special Education (2014–2016)

Research

In my research, I have previously examined the social support and peer relationships of fathers in families with young children. In recent years, I have also participated in research on children's reading and Finnish scientific capital (FINSCI), integrating a family perspective into these studies. Based on the KASVU follow-up research data, I have contributed to studies exploring student selection the choices made and students' academic achievement in teacher education.
