Teaching

My teaching topics are futures studies in Master's Programme in Futures Studies and in Finnish Master's Programmes at Turku School of Economics as well as sustainable development (area of responsibility cultural sustainability) in the Study Programme in Sustainable Development (KEKO, minor).

Research

My main research topics lie under the concept of cultural sustainability transformation. Methodologically I'm concentrating in participatory, qualitative methods in futures studies and in ethnography. One main theme in my research is the interface of cultural and ecological sustainability. Another main theme is cultural heritage and heritage futures as instruments in building sustainable future in a glocal and global process of traditions. In all, I'm combining futures studies, sustainability studies and cultural heritage studies in my research.
