Biography

Jussi Posti works as Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, Head of the Department of Neurorehabilitation and Director of the Turku Brain Injury Center at Turku University Hospital. Jussi is a consultant neurosurgeon and the physician in charge of neurosurgical intensive care and traumatic brain injury care at Turku University Hospital, Finland.

Jussi is the leader of the Turku Traumatic Brain Injury Research Group.

Jussi is Adj. Professor of Neurosurgery (University of Turku) and Adj. Professor of Neurotraumatology (University of Helsinki).

Teaching

2017- Responsible trainer of residents in neurosurgery (Turku University Hospital and Uni. Turku)

2016- Supervision of 2ndand 3rdyear med. students taking clinical investigator rotation course, every summer (Uni. Turku)

2015- Lectures on neuronavigation for undergraduate (neuroscience minor) and postgraduate students (Turku Brain and Mind Center, Uni. Turku) 

2013- Lectures for 4thand 6thyear med. students on neurotraumatology, every spring term (Uni. Turku)

Research

My main research interests are biomarkers in diagnostics of acute phase, treatment effects, and outcome of traumatic brain injury, biomaterials in cranial reconstruction and neuro-oncology.
