Marie Skłodowska-Curie Project: Democratic Breakthrough in the Periphery: An Inter-Imperial Perspective on Non-Sovereign Peripheral Democratization in the Grand Duchy of Finland of the Russian Empire
This project investigates the global response to the establishment of women’s suffrage in the periphery of the Russian Empire. The project addresses both a missing global and transnational dimension in Finnish historiography and the continued overlooking of women’s suffrage, non-sovereign movements, and non-Western, peripheral cases in the sociology of modern democracy’s origins.
