Research

I am affiliated with the INVEST Research Flagship Centre at the University of Turku. I am currently working on two research projects. The first is Family Formation in Flux – Causes, Consequences and Possible Futures (FLUX), funded by the Strategic Research Council (Academy of Finland). As part of the consortium, I investigate the demographic, social, and economic determinants of changing fertility and family dynamics especially in Finland. The second research project is a Nordic collaboration funded by the Danish ROCKWOOL Foundation Determinants of later and forgone parenthood in the Nordic countries: Examining the role of housing and labor market careers (NORDPARENT), where I am the responsible researcher in Finland. I am also a visiting researcher at the University of Helsinki in Finland and at the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Germany.
