Biography

I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Turku in 2010 and subsequently worked as a university teacher and university lecturer within the Department of European and World History. Beyond teaching, I have served as the coordinator for the Graduate School on Integration and Interaction in the Baltic Sea Region.

Teaching

I work as a university teacher who acts as a study advisor as well. In addition to this, I teach at the following compulsory courses

- Early Modern History (basic studies)
- Historical and archeological skills (basic studies, first-year seminar)
- History of Historiography (intermediate studies)

Research

My research topics have included intellectual history and the history of historical thought, but recently I have been active in projects on book history and urban history. They include
-Mobility of Words and Places of Knowledge: Learned Communities in Early Nineteenth-Century Finland (Kone Foundation)
- The study and cataloging of the old collection in the Turku City Library /Finnish Cultural Foundation)
- International Turku in the 19th century (The city of Turku)

In addition, my recent publications have mainly been concerned with history of historical thought and classical reception studies in the 18th-20th century.
