Biography
A doctoral researcher in the Utuling Programme a the School of Language and Translation Studies. The dissertation is being written for the Department of Finnish and Finno-Ugric Language Studies. The research deals with written vernacular language, the problems of its linguistic maintenance and the language ideologies of vernacular language.
An assistant editor in two scientific publications.
Research
I study standard Finnish language, its norms, language planning, and language ideologies. I examine related phenomena such as language professionals' attitudes towards grammatical change, the shaming of others' written language in social media, perceptions and attitudes towards language change, and holes in the grammar of standard language.
