Biography
Since 1986, I have worked primarily as a teacher at the University of Turku.
Teaching
I teach courses in Cultural History at basic and intermediate levels at the Open University
Research
In addition to my teaching
activities, I am writing my doctoral thesis on the identity issues that Finnish
Left intellectuals were facing and working on from the 1930s to the end of the 1950s,
and I have published several articles on the topic. In addition to the
inter-war period in Finland, I am more generally interested in the cultural
history of Western left-wing authors and journalists as it is depicted, for
example, in their writings about emotions and war.
